Our culture uses technology to create a world that caters to human wants and habits. Objects that facilitate use and anticipate our desires.
I enjoy the comfort and ease that these technologies lend my life, but they also make me uneasy. I feel like these constructs create the false assumption that our surroundings are welcoming and gentle. The world just past the edges of our cities is an environment of indifference, one that is struggled with to produce food, and earn passage to the wild places on the edge of the horizon.
